Picnic Poetry Reading
Pack a basket with cheese, fruit, wine, and finger foods, plus a favorite poetry book or printed poems. Find a scenic spot in a park, preferably near water or under a tree, and spread out a blanket.
Take turns reading poems aloud to each other, choosing ones that resonate or confuse you. Don't explain why you picked each poem immediately—let the other person guess what it meant to you.
Try writing a collaborative poem together, alternating lines without planning where it will go. Press a flower or leaf from your picnic spot into your poetry book as a bookmark.
