Stargazing With Mythology

The Plan

Start

Drive out of the city to somewhere dark—a field, hilltop, or park. Bring blankets, a star map app, and some basic astronomy knowledge from a quick YouTube binge.

Then

Lie back and find constellations together. Read the mythology behind each one—Orion, Cassiopeia, Andromeda—and discuss which stories resonate or seem ridiculous.

End

Make up your own constellation from random stars and invent a story for it. Name it something meaningful or completely absurd.

Conversation Starter

If you could witness any astronomical event in history—supernova, eclipse, comet—which would you choose and why?
